DNRCET is provided with a Technical Skill Development Institute. It is used to promote skill development entrepreneurship in and around the rural areas of DNRCET. It is also serving as an important task of providing high quality skilled manpower as part of the Knowledge and Skills Mission “of Government of A.P.As per some estimates, Andhra Pradesh will face an incremental Human resources requirement of approximately ten million skilled workers from 2012 till 2022, across the high-priority and emerging sectors. Thus, the main objective of the program is to implement a structured and pragmatic solution to skill up skill the workforce in and around the rural areas of DNRCET and to increase employability, and promote entrepreneurship in sync with Industrial growth.
• The institution has provided five labs for training, viz.,
• The computer based training lab (CBT)
• Electrical home lab
• Electronics home lab.
• Electronics office lab
• RAC Lab
To facilitate the above, the target population has been divided into seven segments, viz.: Drop outs, Engineering skills, degree PG, in-trade services, agriculture allied, crafts, entrepreneurship development. Separate programmes will be designed for each segment. A hybrid model where t-SDI carries out its own programmes as well as value-adds collates the training being done by other departments is being adopted by the corporation to start with. Some unique best of class training programmes like Siemens Centers of Excellence Clusters, Capital Area Skilling, Train the Trainer, etc. are part of the whole gamut of trainings to be offered at different levels. In addition to the practice training offered at these t-SDI’s, it is considered that the course would be more effective and fruitful if relevant material related to the course is also provided to the participants for revision and ready-reference .Consequently, an attempt was made to create the requisite content by the experienced faculty and the trainers. T-SDI is staffed with best of talent in this sector will partner with leading training providers industry to carry out the training programmes. It aims to develop a best-in-class learning management system and placement and tracking mechanism. Ultimately, it aims to be among the best training providerOrganizations in the state.

• During the academic year 2019-20 almost 1028 students got training from this project. They are:
· 685 DNR Polytechnic students
· 58 Intermediate Vocational
· 245 ITI Students
· 40 Degree Students
• This project has evidenced a big success with a huge number of students who got training from this project, enhanced their English communication skills, soft skills and their life skills, increased their self confidence, and learnt corporate etiquettes.
• Recently a few students from DNRCET are hired by a reputed MNC, and some more students are waiting for offer letters.

Participation in sports and other physical activities can have many benefits for children. Participation in organized sports offers the chance for youth to enhance their physical and social skills. A balance should be maintained that matches the child’s maturity, skills, and their interests with their sports participation. Sports offer children a change from the monotony of their daily life. It is also a useful means of entertainment and physical activity for them.
Physical benefits:
Sports and games make you more fit. They make your muscles stronger and keep the bones, heart, and lungs in good condition. When you play sports regularly, you use up the fatty molecules. It implies that you have less chance of blood clotting and heart attack.
Games and sports make us healthy and fit for work. Games and sports are very necessary in our life. Games and sports make us fit, active, fresh and social. They teach us a lesson of coloration duty and discipline. They teach us a lesson of brotherhood and national unity. Games and sports have much value in development of body is as important as that of a mind. A healthy mind dwells in a healthy body. Games keep the body fit and active.
Types of Games – There are two types of games such as Indoor Games and outdoors Games.
- Indoor Games – Indoor games mean play in the rooms and halls example cards, carrom, ludo, chess etc. are the most common games. Any indoor games help us to practice essential cognitive skills and enhance the parts of brain responsible for complex thought and memory formation. Creative indoor games help the brain retain and build cognitive associations well in old age.
- Outdoor Games– Outdoor games mean play in the open place and play grounds example hockey, Cricket, Tennis, Kho-Kho etc. These games are most important for student’s life. Outdoor games likes Football, Basketball, Running, Swimming builds the stamina of person. As all these games require a lot of running, the Stamina of a man automatically increase very high.
Need of Games –Games and Sports are very necessary of life. It provides the best exercise to the body. The shade body becomes active physical excersize is very important for digestion. In this way games and sports not only fresh the mind but improve digestion, Fill in the hung with pure air. Games and sports make the students active and fresh. It also teaches students the value of discipline.
Nowadays technology also playing important role in sports to judge the fair game for winners, it helps to judge for car racer by seeing properly on the screen, also in cricket like some times when it becomes difficult to make the decision again technology is used. In every sport, it has been utilized for doing fair play and announce the winners. Research suggests that sports have the capacity to connect youth with positive thinking and provide positive development.
For any sportsman, high education is not mandatory but required to be the best sportsman it is his interest, strength and skills. We have seen in the last two decades women’s are also showing more interest in sports and for them also proper matches are arranged by the government. Sports give feel to live with a positive attitude. sports can be played in both indoor and outdoor, many indoor games like chess, carom board, helps to improve the thinking power but the sports which are played in outdoor like football, cricket, Rugby, kabaddi etc helps to improve physical strength, thus the person who does more outdoor games should be more fit and slim. 3-4 decades ago, the opportunity in sports was not much-shown interest which is shown by the present youth generation.
Sports secure life and give a standard lifestyle. So sports should be played by everyone because it helps our body in movement and gives good health, the study has proved that sports have better well controlled on many diseases like heart attack, lung function, obesity, and thinking power. Sports keep us active and energetic, even in some treatment to recover from the disease sports are advised by the doctors. play sports on a regular basis and keep our self-fit, sports should not be neglected but it should be mandatory for everyone.
DNRCET Sports
Sports are integral part of the curriculum and have given the same importance as Studies. DNRCET has a Playground and Gymnasium with all facilities like Cricket, Basket Ball, Volley Ball, Shuttle Badminton, Tennis, Chess & Caroms etc. and few of the photos are shown below. Regular tournaments in Sports & Games are conducted as per the schedule. Students are also encouraged to participate in various sports activities according to their interest.

INSTITUTIONAL DISTINCTIVENESS
The Institute focuses keenly on the holistic development of the institution and provides students and faculty with every opportunity and resource to facilitate their growth. This is one of the most distinctive features the Institute, whose details are given below in brief.
Holistic Development of Students: The Institute had an intake of 300 UG students at the time of its inception in 2010. Making spectacular growth over the years, now it has an intake of 540 students for 7 UG programs, and 192 students of five PG programs.
The institute has been Accredited by NAAC with a CGPA of 3.73 on a four point scale at ‘A++’ Grade and three UG programs-CSE, ECE,and EEE have been accredited by NBA in the year 2023-24.
Based on vision and mission statements of the institute, the institute has been focusing on the holistic development of students while aiming at excellence in education and meeting the quality standards set by accrediting and regulatory bodies.
NAAC while laying utmost importance of quality in education, and NBA while prescribing parameters for outcome based education finally lead to the holistic development of the students. And so, the student centric activities at the institute are designed for achieving holistic development of the students. It has four components, namely, the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional developments.
Intellectual development: The institute, implements university (JNTUK) curriculum through well planned and effective teaching learning activities blended with latest pedagogy approaches. Various approaches have been taken to enable students to meet their individual needs. Exposure to students throughout their educational program is provided by mentors, industry experts, professionals, and innovators. This enables them to be work ready. The institute proactively identifies the curriculum gaps and makes the provision for imparting the content beyond syllabus bridging the gaps. The students are facilitated to work on relevant problem related to society, industry through projects like minor and major projects and complex problem solving. Students are enabled to work environment through regular industrial visits. Also they are sent to internships. The institute also organizes various programs for providing hands-on training to the students of latest technology adopted by the industry. Students are also motivated to reach out to the industry for various industrial projects. The technical fests and model exhibition are features of developing hands on experiences among students.
Social development: The social skills are nurtured through various activities conducted by the NSS unit at the institute. The institute ensures that the social values and feeling of giving back to the society is not limited to the NSS unit
Exposure to social issues and working on probable solutions: The students are exposed to the diverse social structure and their issues, particularly in the neighbouring areas, through the National Service Scheme implemented at the Institute. The students undertake activities of spreading social awareness about various burning topics such Blood donation camp, women health, Swatch Bharat, etc. While doing so, they also become aware of the issues of the society and think on probable measures to solve them.
Physical development: The institute promotes physical activities among the students to cultivate many important skills such as physical fitness, team spirit, confidence, decision making, mental strength, etc. of the students. Each year, the institute organizes annual sports events for the students comprising of various sports such as cricket, volleyball, throw ball, kabaddi, chess, carom, etc. In these sports both boys as well girls participate and show their skills – their sportsman spirit and team-building abilities grow. The institute celebrates international Yoga Day each year. During the camps held at various village adopted by the institute through NSS, various physical activities like Yoga, exercises, outdoor sports etc are conducted. Along with other sports cultural and technical activities, the NSS unit plans activities like tree plantation and field visits to expose the students to the pressing issues in our society. A session on Universal Human Value (UHV) is arranged by experts.
Emotional development: Emotional health of the students is given apt attention at the institute. The mentor-mentee system is in place that ensures the students’ contact with faculty at least once every two weeks. During these meetings, students can discuss their academics as well as personal problems with the faculty. Appropriate counseling is provided by the mentor-faculty to the students. There are special female mentors at the institute for a group of 15-20 girl-students who meet the girl-students regularly, understand their difficulties, if any, and guide them about probable solutions. A professional counselor is also employed at the institute whose help may be taken by the students in need.
Due to the approach of Holistic Development, DNRCET engineering graduates are found to work relentlessly while taking their responsibilities on passing out while being proved to be intellectually competent, morally upright, spiritually inspired and socially committed – They leave footprints of their own, wherever they go.
