At DNR College of Engineering & Technology (Autonomous), academic audits are conducted annually through the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) to maintain and enhance academic quality and institutional performance. An Academic Audit Committee, constituted specifically for this purpose, oversees the entire audit process and ensures systematic monitoring of academic activities.
At the commencement of every academic year, the committee collects detailed academic plans from all departments and institutional committees. These plans include proposed targets for research publications, extension activities, industry collaborations, innovative and best practices, assignment methodologies, ICT-enabled teaching, student participation in competitions, seminars, workshops, and other academic initiatives.
In addition to internal audits, the college undergoes online / offline inspections conducted by JNTUK, Kakinada, for the annual renewal of affiliation. These inspections evaluate academic infrastructure, faculty qualifications, laboratories, instructional resources, and overall compliance with university norms. The observations from these inspections play a crucial role in strengthening the academic and administrative processes of the institution.
Twice during the academic session, the Academic Audit Committee reviews the progress of all departments and committees by comparing achievements with the planned objectives. A consolidated audit report is prepared and submitted to the IQAC, followed by presentation in the College Academic Committee for discussion, suggestions, and final approval.
The structured and periodic academic audit system, along with regular JNTUK affiliation inspections, has contributed significantly to enhancing curricular, co-curricular, and extracurricular performance across all departments. These mechanisms ensure academic accountability, promote quality assurance, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence at DNR College of Engineering & Technology (A).
